The Office of Civic Engagement and Social Justice (Lang CESJ) is situated within the Dean’s Office at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts and is dedicated to promoting, supporting and implementing purposeful community-based teaching, learning and engagement within a social justice framework at Lang, The New School and beyond. Lang CESJ is seeking an administrative assistant for 10-20 hours per week to provide administrative support for the office and its programs. This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

- Serve as key administrative contact for space and facilities requests, catering orders, and other logistical needs
- Manage the Lang CESJ office email account
- Serve as on-site staff for key CESJ programs for students, faculty, and staff
- Update documents and flyers relating to CESJ programs
- Other duties and special projects as assigned

- 10-20 hours per week
- Reports to: Christina Dawkins, Director and Kendra Danowski, Assistant Director
- Start date: negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Student at The New School, actively enrolled during both Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters
- Strong interest in and/or demonstrated commitment to social justice
- Creative, independent worker with ability to collaborate on a small team and adapt to shifting priorities
- Proficient in Google Apps (including Drive/Docs), Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to commit to the role from September 2017 through May 2018
- Ability to work between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of social justice-centered programs and initiatives across TNS
- Proficient/familiar with 25Live, NetFacilities, and/or other technology systems used internally
- Graduate-level or highly experienced undergraduate student
