Responsibilities:

The Experiential Opportunities Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Career Services and Experiential Opportunities.

The Experiential Opportunities Coordinator is responsible for managing internship contracts and maintaining relationships with students and employers to ensure a successful internship experience. The Experiential Opportunities Coordinator is an integral member of the Student Success team by helping plan and implement university-wide programs and policies that strengthen students’ abilities in their professional pursuits.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Experiential Learning module within the Village database and maintain accurate records on employer activities
- Communicate with employers on the policies and procedures of The New School’s internship programs; assist them with creating and maintain accounts on the Village
- Manage and oversee Experience Learning Agreements, while assisting students, staff and employers with any issues they may have throughout the process. Manage and respond to all emails concerning the internship program and other experiential opportunities
- Maintain documentation of student progress and related paperwork such as: agreement forms; and evaluations through the Village and assist with the resolution of concerns brought forward by students, faculty, staff and/or internship site personnel
- Maintain information and instructions on internship policies and procedures on website, in email communication and in printed materials distributed to relevant departments
- Work with relevant staff, faculty and administrators in other departments to ensure internship policies and procedures are consistently applied for all submitted internships
- Work with Appeals Committee staff to collect information regarding retroactive internship requests
- Source employer contacts and opportunities through faculty, alumni, administrators; create and maintain accurate employer information on the Village and inform Assistant Director of Undergraduate Career Services and Experiential Opportunities
- Strategize social media and technology to promote opportunities
- Compile, maintain and promote professional development resources for students, including the Internship Strategies Canvas course
- Develop relationships and collaborate with student workers, student clubs, professional organizations, employer and faculty to co-market events and resources
- Develop, advertise and facilitate internship workshops aimed at educating students and employers on internship responsibilities and regulations
- Conduct internship site visits to ensure employers adhere to internship regulations
- Scout and recruit new employers to form internship and employment partnerships with
- Mediate and resolve all escalated internship issues
- Assist Assistant Director of Undergraduate Career Services and Experiential Opportunities to collect and report on student engagement on programs and services
- Provide assistance in planning, coordinating and executing center-wide events supporting diverse student and alumni populations
- Participate in relevant academic committees and work groups within the college and university
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years experience in a fast-paced and service oriented environment.
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, including sensitivity to cultural differences
• Stellar organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects both independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer applications

• Related experience in higher education
• Students Services experience
• Employer Relations experience
