Responsibilities:

The New School seeks a Coordinator, Admission Events, within Strategic Enrollment Management, responsible for the coordination of operations for on and off campus recruitment and yield events, planned in concert with admission offices, under the umbrella of Enrollment Services. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Admission Events, the Coordinator will manage the planning and implementation of events including program information sessions; receptions; Graduate and undergraduate expos; Open houses; and, admitted student yield events. As a member of the Enrollment Services team, the Coordinator will play a vital role in the implementation of recruitment and outreach strategies to traditional and nontraditional prospective student populations, including undergraduates, graduates, and adults. Evening and weekend hours will be required. The successful candidate will be a creative, detail oriented problem solver, possessing strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with clients and stakeholders across, and external to, the university. This position requires a strong customer service orientation and the demonstrated ability to perform a variety of complex and diverse tasks.

Responsibilities
– Manage and oversee on and off campus admission recruitment and yield events
– Collaborate with the Assistant Director and staff within Admissions and Student Success in the planning and implementation of events that will showcase the University’s mission of social justice, design inspired thinking, and a rigorously relevant education
– Hire, manage and train event staff, coordinating day of staffing assignments and overseeing execution of assigned tasks during events
– Manage the scheduling of on and off campus spaces, including all setup, breakdown and media services needs
– Identify catering and promotional merchandise vendors, making recommendations for purchase and partnership and coordinating work with approved external vendors
– Liaise with Marketing and Communications team on the design and delivery of digital and print materials for admission events marketing
– Monitor event expenditures, track spending and generate budget reports, as needed
– Manage event software and registration systems, including Cvent, Boomset, Hobsons, Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, and others, ensuring timely and complete entry of event data and information
– Maintain inventory of event supplies and promotional merchandise
– Assist in assembling program displays which may require bending, stooping and moving up to 30 pounds and also assist in staffing booths or tables for up to six hours at a time
– Some regional travel may be required
– Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 3 years’ related experience
– Strong written and oral communication skills
– Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media platforms, and use/set up of audiovisual technologies
– Experience working within a higher education setting, supporting undergraduate, graduate and adult populations

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience
– Experience in event planning, higher education, hospitality, or trade show/exhibitions
– Experience with budget management, contracts, and presentations
– Flexibility and ability to thrive under pressure
