Responsibilities:

The Program Marketing unit within The New School’s centralized Marketing & Communication Department works with digital and traditional marketing and advertising channels to raise awareness and engagement in academic degree programs across the university. The primary goal is to increase interest in The New School’s graduate programs (MFA, MA, MS, MPS degrees) and adult degree programs (adult bachelor’s and AAS degrees) and to generate inquiries and applications for the programs.

Reporting to the Director of Academic Program Marketing and collaborating closely with the Digital Marketing Manager for Academic Programs, the Marketing Assistant is a part-time, on-campus graduate student employment position that will support the implementation and reporting of digital marketing and advertising tactics targeted at prospective students and influencers around the world. The Marketing Assistant will also support market research initiatives aimed at strengthening strategic positioning and messaging for individual degree programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under direction of the Digital Marketing Manager, support optimization of ongoing digital marketing campaigns and assist with campaign reports on paid media visibility, engagement, conversions, and synthesize metrics reports from Google Analytics, Google AdWords, social media advertising platforms, and external partners
• Under direction of Director of Marketing, conduct market research and competitive landscape assessments for individual degree programs and employment sectors in order to help align program development and communications to audience needs
• Research advertising opportunities via various channels and media that align with program marketing audience segments
• Light administrative duties are required

Minimum Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree
• Detail-oriented multi-tasker, who can think analytically and communicate effectively
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, with particularly strong skills in Excel and data analytics and quantitative analysis
• Experience with digital marketing and analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Google AdWords, social media advertising management platforms
• Ideal candidate will be a graduate student available 15-20 hours per week
