Responsibilities:

Job Purpose: The Student Programming Assistant works directly with the Director on research and programming for the department and commuter student population. Support functions can include assisting with event coordination, distribution of correspondence, and assisting with the front desk as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with answering telephones, filing correspondence and running errands on campus.
• Assisting in the coordination, implementation, and assessment/evaluation of programs sponsored by the Office of Student Development & Activities.
• Assisting with special projects and events relating to the programming philosophy of the Office of Student Development & Activities.
• Assisting with brainstorming, development and implementation of university-wide programming and leadership development.
• Conduct proactive outreach to gain student involvement and to distribute information throughout the university.
• Serve as a representative and liaison to students and the Office of Student Development & Activities.
• Greet office guests, answer questions and direct to the proper individual(s).
• Must be able to interact and communicate with peers, university and community partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a registered New School student.
• Computer programs and database use (general).
• Office support.
• Must possess a level of interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Sensitivity to working in a multicultural setting is imperative.
• Able to perform duties in a high traffic area.
