Position Availability:

The Department of Foreign Languages ( seeks a reliable and motivated office assistant to help with day-to-day operations in a busy, fast-paced office. The position requires flexible hours and involves staffing occasional evening/weekend events. Currently we are looking for a student who is available to work full time during summer 2016 (10am – 6pm) starting Tuesday, May 31st.

Responsibilities include:
• Reception duties and answering general phone and e-mail inquiries
• Clerical duties such as filing, copying, scanning and shredding
• Handling assignments from department chair, program manager and faculty
• Creating flyers and other collateral for meetings and events
• Assisting with department events
• Working closely with other university offices to troubleshoot student issues
• Maintaining organization of office and supplies
• Running errands on campus as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Professional with excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
• Must be able to handle busy phones
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently
• Punctual and reliable
• Tech savvy with command of Microsoft Office applications, Google Drive and social media
• Prior experience in an administrative position
• Able to design flyers using common software programs

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of graphic design programs such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign is a plus.
